Painted Desert is a master-planned community that surrounds the Painted Desert Golf Club. When the course opened in 1987, it sat alone in northwest Las Vegas. Today, Painted Desert sits amid the burgeoning neighborhoods of Centennial Hills, a growing development located along U.S. 95, near I-215.

Painted Desert Golf Club was the Las Vegas valley's first true desert golf course. The emerald fairways are separated by native desert vegetation, and several lakes add to the course's natural beauty. Homes developed along the golf course in 1988, and most were built in the 1990s. The 460-acre community is now home to condos, villas and single-family homes, many featuring fairway views and mountain vistas.

Painted Desert Golf Club opened in 1987. Jay Moorish designed the challenging desert course, which is considered among the best-maintained public courses in Nevada. Besides golf, Painted Desert offers residents-only pools and tennis courts, and there are plenty of opportunities for jogging, walking and bicycling.
